(“Mercer Korea”) and its affiliates (the “Company”) believe strongly in protecting the privacy of Internet users who visit our website, located at www.mercer.co.kr (the "Site”). This Privacy Policy is intended to inform you of the ways in which this Site collects personal information, the uses to which that information will be put, and the ways in which we will protect any personal information you choose to provide us. If you request a brochure or further information from us, we require you to submit your name, e-mail address, job title, phone number, the name of your company, your business needs and the country in which you are based so we may send you the material you have requested, and to enable us to identify if you are an existing client of Marsh.

In addition, in the course of ensuring network security and consistent service for all users, the Company employs software programs to do such things as monitor network traffic, identify unauthorized access or access to nonpublic information, detect computer viruses and other software that might damage the Company’s computers or the network, and monitor and fine-tune the performance of the Company network and this Site. In the course of such monitoring, these programs may detect additional information from your computer such as your IP address, addresses from network packets, and other technical information. We will use the information provided by you in order to serve your needs. You can refuse the overseas transfer of personal information by contacting the privacy department and in such case, your access to our services may be restricted.

Once the Company has completed using your personal information for the purposes for which it was collected, the Company will immediately destroy such personal information. In addition, your personal information will be destroyed immediately upon your withdrawing your consent to the processing of your personal information, or requesting that your personal information be deleted.  However, in cases where the Company is required to retain certain items of your personal information to comply with relevant laws, the Company will retain such personal information for the period required by law.  During that time, the Company will use the personal information solely for the purpose of fulfilling its obligations under such laws.  The followings are major examples of such retention:

• Books and material documents relating to the business and liquidation of the company: 10 years (Korea Commercial Code)
• Slips of other similar documents: 5 years (Korea Commercial Code)
• Records on handling consumer complaints or disputes: 3 years (Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce)
• Website visit records: 3 months (Protection of Communications Secrets Act)

Procedure for Destruction: We will select personal information whose retention period has expired and destroy such information in accordance with applicable laws and our policies(including record retention schedule). Mercer Korea identifies the personal information for which a reason for destruction has occurred, and then destroys them with approval from the Chief Privacy Officer.

Method of Destruction: When deleting your personal information, we will take reasonable and technically feasible measures to ensure that the personal information is irrecoverable. Personal information in print media will be shredded or incinerated, while personal information in electronic files will be deleted in a manner such that the data will be irrecoverable.

This Site and all information that you submit through this Site is collected, stored, and processed in the United States within Company-controlled databases. We restrict access to your personal information to those employees of ours, and our affiliates, and to those service providers who need to use it to provide this Site and our products or services. We have implemented physical, administrative, and technical safeguards to protect your personal information from unauthorized access. However, as effective as our security measures are, no security system is impenetrable. We cannot guarantee the security of our systems, nor can we guarantee that information you supply will not be intercepted while being transmitted to us over the Internet.
