Workshop summary

Provide participants with an understanding of Mercer’s approach to managing compensation: 3P concept. This course will describe how to develop a total rewards strategy that works for one’s organization by considering the principles and applications of pay for position, pay for person, and pay for performance. Explores basic compensation management constructs such as job evaluations and grading, salary structure design and application, market pay rates, pay premiums, and type of variable pay in driving performance.

Gain a comprehensive understanding of the Indonesian market, focusing on economic growth, hiring trends, and compensation dynamics to effectively utilize Salary Survey results. This program covers the essentials of salary surveys, including participation, data interpretation, and competitive pay analysis, while also emphasizing the importance of remuneration philosophy and the 3P Compensation Management approach. 

Participants will enhance their HR skills with practical Excel exercises designed to streamline data analysis and presentation in their daily work.

Enhance HR practitioners’ point of view with regards of using rewards to drive workforce performance and desired behavior, at the cost that is sensitive towards business performance. The training will share some of Mercer’s point of view, principles, and the typical constructs of variable pay, in the form of performance bonuses and sales incentive plans that can be utilized by HR practitioners to develop the right variable pay model in their organization that can drive business outcome, or to review existing variable plan to ensure its appropriateness to current business context.

Participants will explore how to develop guiding principles for remuneration policies that support talent movement. The program also incorporates Mercer’s insights on cost of living and quality of living to facilitate informed mobility decisions.

Organization Design Fundamentals is a comprehensive training that introduces core concepts and market trends, covers basic structures (functional, divisional, and matrix) and explains how design must align with business strategy and people programs. Participants learn to assess how structure affects decision-making, performance, and collaboration, and leave able to recommend fit-for-purpose design solutions.

Role Analysis Training designed to equip participants with a comprehensive understanding of the essential components of role analysis. This training will cover the prerequisites of role analysis, including organization design, business process mapping, and the RACI Matrix. Participants will learn to identify the purpose and objectives of job descriptions, determine the various uses for job descriptions within an organization, gather position-specific information about jobs and develop standardized job descriptions. The training will include hands-on activities that explore several approaches to sourcing job content for writing effective job descriptions. By the end of the training, participants will be well-prepared to apply their knowledge in practical settings, enhancing their ability to create clear and effective job descriptions that align with organizational goals.

Using Mercer's International Position Evaluation (IPE), job evaluation is critical to assess the relative worth of jobs within an organization hierarchy and establish a benchmark for compensation comparison. Organizations today are establishing best practices by utilizing position evaluation for:

  • Identifying organizational issues and determining the need for restructuring
  • Developing an objective reference to solve job titling issues
  • Creating a starting point for position/person profiles
  • Establishing a reliable base for an equitable salary structure.

The session will also focus on the development of programs with practical instruction on theory and risk assessment to prevent and manage health-related issues and reduce injuries and absenteeism.

This deep-dive trains participants to design and run workplace mental health and wellness programs. It covers prevention and early identification, brief interventions and referral pathways, supervisor training and reasonable accommodations, and integration with chronic disease management.
