Congratulations!  We’ve been working at this for years, and now are just inches away from a full repeal of the Cadillac Tax. You can read the details in this post co-authored by Geoff Manville, my comrade in arms on countless visits to the Hill to make the case for repeal. Personally, I’m deeply appreciative of the support of the Mercer colleagues and clients who read and responded to my many blog posts and emails on the subject (including my most recent internal message, which began with the words “I’m begging you…!”)  During the final push to the finish, Mercer clients rallied in a truly remarkable way, helping to send a letter to the Senate with signatures from 1,109 companies and organizations in support of full repeal. We’ve said it many times: It is vital that Congress hears the voice of employers when it comes to healthcare in the United States. Here is proof that getting involved really does make a difference. Thank you!

In other ACA news, a federal appeals court ruled this week that the individual mandate is unconstitutional -- but remanded the case back to a federal judge in Texas to decide how much of the rest of the ACA, if any, is also unconstitutional. Get the details here
