You can help end HIV

November 18, 2025

Each year on World AIDS Day, millions of people across the globe join together to show support for the more than 40 million people living with HIV today and honor the more than 44 million people who have died due to AIDS-related conditions.

Launched in 1988 and commemorated annually on Dec. 1, World AIDS Day also offers an opportunity to commit to meaningful actions that bring us closer to ending the HIV epidemic. Employers can help end HIV — and make a lasting difference for their workers and the communities they serve — by expanding health care access, creating inclusive policies, and dismantling stigma and discrimination.

The 2025 edition of the “World AIDS Day Toolkit for Employers” makes it easy to take action in your workplace. The guide includes six ways to honor World AIDS Day, ideas for year-round engagement, sample social media posts, links to trusted resources, and spotlights on how leading companies are taking action.

The first step is educating your workforce about HIV.  Mercer created a video series that can be used to educate your leadership, people managers, employee resource group members and workforce.

Whether you're planning your first World AIDS Day initiative or building on existing efforts, this toolkit can help you take action in your workplace. By acknowledging the impact HIV has had on our communities and taking action, employers can accelerate America’s progress toward ending HIV while making a lasting difference for their workers and the communities they serve.
