What One Thing Would You Change About the ACA?

Jun 11 2014

The Wall Street Journal this week asked its online panel of experts to comment on the one thing they would change about the ACA. The five comments came primarily from academia. Three focused on health care delivery needs: Promoting innovation and competition, addressing the need for more primary care, and — from our friends at the employer-driven Leapfrog Group — paying providers based on their performance in terms of patient safety. One suggested adding a “public option” health plan to the exchange, such as Medicare, and one suggested employers should be relieved of the burden of providing health coverage altogether. But according to Mercer's research, 94% of US employers with 500 or more employees are planning to "stay in the game" for at least the next five years. So we thought we would ask our employer readers to comment on the one thing YOU would change about the ACA. (And no fair just saying “repeal.”) We look forward to hearing from you! You can comment here or email me directly. We'll share the feedback (anonymously, if you email me) in a future post.
