A new chapter begins

Business has a role in public health

October 16, 2025
Businesses, and the health care benefits they provide for their employees and family members, play an important role in supporting public health in our country. Providing access to healthcare — from preventive care to chronic condition management to life-saving treatments — is one of the most important ways to support employees and their families. Businesses have an opportunity to bring new momentum to the pursuit of a public health goal once believed to be impossible — the end of the HIV epidemic in the US. If you haven’t explored how your organization can engage and support the end of HIV, here’s an easy way to get started. The first step is HIV education. We created four video infographics that can be used to educate your leadership, people managers, employee resource group members and workforce.

There are several annual recognition days that promote ending HIV. Earlier this year, we wrote about how businesses can support testing on National HIV Testing Day (June 27).  World AIDS Day is coming up on December 1. To explore what you can do, join U.S. Business Action to End HIV on Wednesday, October 22, 2025 from 2-3pm ET, for a virtual employer briefing. Attendees will get early access to the World AIDS Day Toolkit for Employers with tips, best practices, and opportunities to take action. We hope you will sign up to join this important event — and pass along the event information to your colleagues, too. Together we can end HIV in the US.
