Living Longer, Better: Understanding Longevity Literacy
We are at a point in history where people are living longer. Therefore, it is essential for businesses, government, and individuals to assess their planning for later life.
In understanding the concept of longevity literacy, businesses, government and individuals can focus on three areas:
- quality of life
- purpose
- financial resilience
These three stakeholders combined can help to start reimagining what a sustainable, fulfilling and longer life can look like, as well as how retirement will look.
The World Economic Forum, in collaboration with Mercer, focuses on this topic in a publication titled Living Longer, Better: Understanding Longevity Literacy.
This report shares insights from a unique pulse poll, which examines how individuals perceive ageing and retirement. Moreover, it provides a set of actions that every stakeholder – individuals, businesses and government – can take to address the three dimensions of longevity literacy and be successful in a potential 100-year life.
