Defined benefit pension risk transfer

The anatomy of a record-breaking pension risk transfer year
The pension risk transfer (PRT) market closed 2022 with nearly $52B in premium transferred1, the highest year on record. Early indications are that 2023 will shape up to be another banner year with a record first quarter and the third largest deal in history starting off the second quarter.
The market continues to evolve. Not only is the total number of dollars transferred and deals completed growing, but the types of deals completed and how deals get done has evolved as well. Plan sponsors should consider working with a process-driven advisor who can not only assist in anticipating and responding to these changes, but who also can help ensure that when a plan sponsor is ready to transact, the market is ready for your transaction.
