US: DOL extends comment period for proposal on overtime calculations 

The Department of Labor (DOL) has extended the comment period on the proposed Fair Labor Standards Act rule for calculating overtime pay to 12 Jun 2019 — from 28 May. The proposal, released in March, clarifies which perquisites and benefits employers can exclude from overtime-eligible employees’ regular rates of pay when calculating overtime. The proposed changes, which would update regulations that have been in place more than 50 years, aim to “provide clarity and better reflect the 21^st century workplace,” the agency says.
