Survey: Worksite medical clinics

Publication Date

This survey report provides a detailed look at employer worksite clinics. The 12-page report is based on data from Mercer's National Survey of Employer-Sponsored Health Plans, conducted in the summer of 2007, combined with a follow-up survey of worksite clinic sponsors and nonsponsors that was conducted in July 2008. A total of 345 employers with at least 200 employees responded to the survey, including 100 with clinics already in place.

The US$25 survey found that while large employers are still more likely to offer "traditional" occupational health clinics (31 percent), 14 percent offer a clinic that provides primary care services and an additional 10 percent were considering providing a primary care clinic in 2009. The report provides details on both types of clinics, including cost, utilization, and types of services offered.
