Job evaluation: the basis for competitive HR practices

Assess jobs across your organisation and attract, develop and retain critical talent by leveraging Mercer’s job evaluation and job analysis methodologies. We combine e-learning and workshops to offer you the flexibility of upskilling anywhere, anytime.

A new way of learning: Mercer’s methodologies

Work has become more complex, agile and fluid in the past two years, and so have your learning needs.

Our 2022-2023 Global Talent Trends report revealed that a lack of time either during or after work is the top barrier to employees learning a new skill. To overcome this barrier, Mercer Learning has transformed traditional workshops into a self-directed, blended approach that your employees can access on the go.

Your job evaluation and job analysis learning journey starts with a comprehensive series of online learning modules and concludes with a live, interactive workshop delivered by our accredited facilitators. Our combined approach brings together the best of both worlds:

  • Content-driven, self-paced digital learning
  • Small-group, virtual classrooms
The diagram illustrates three learning options: In the left is 'classroom training', in the right is 'e-learning' and in the middle is a combination of the two: 'blended leaning'.
Mercer helps you bring structure to jobs and flexibility to learning.

What is blended learning?

Mercer’s blended learning approach combines traditional, real-time workshops and self-paced online modules. Blending live workshops and online learning methods boosts the effectiveness of your learning journey.
  • E-learning

allows participants to access a personalised exploration of the course at their own pace, reinforcing learning with components like interactive media, quizzes and exercises.
  • Our live workshops

offer immediate feedback and engagement and facilitate collaboration and group learning.

What are the benefits of blended learning?

  • The learning process can be better tailored to individuals’ needs.
  • Learning outcomes are amplified because you can apply the theory straight away.
  • Increased flexibility means you can learn in your own time, on any device.
  • Progress is easily tracked.
  • Knowledge is consolidated with a live and interactive workshop with our Mercer accredited facilitators.

How does it work?

  • Part 1: E-learning

Approved participants get instant access to a self-paced exploration of the course through quizzes, tutorials and exercises. Once they have completed all modules, they are invited to enrol in a live online workshop.
  • Part 2: Live online workshop

Participants put their learning into practice in a three-hour virtual classroom facilitated by a Mercer workforce consultant. The workshop provides immediate feedback and greater understanding of the methodology.

Four steps to accreditation in Mercer methodologies

Get your job evaluation journey started with Mercer’s blended learning method.

The blended learning journey

  • 1. Register for the course

Log-in details to access the e-learning platform will be sent to approved participants within 72 hours of registration.
  • 2. Complete the e-learning modules

Work through the self-paced course material. On average, we estimate each participant will complete five to 12 hours of self-directed learning before the final workshop. After completing e-learning, participants register for a live online workshop.
  • 3. Join the final live workshop

Consolidate and put your knowledge to the test with a Mercer accredited facilitator and fellow learners.
  • 4. Get learning recognition

After completing e-learning and demonstrating understanding of the concepts in the final workshop, participants receive Mercer accreditation.

Customise your learning journey

All of our methodology programs can be customised for groups of eight or more participants.

Mercer Learning can:
