Mercer announces Pacific executive team following BT Super merger
Australia, 6 April, 2023
Mercer, a business of Marsh McLennan (NYSE: MMC) and a global leader in redefining the world of work, reshaping retirement and investment outcomes, and unlocking real health and well-being today announced two appointments to the Pacific executive team following the completed merger of BT Super into the Mercer Super Trust and acquisition of Advance Asset Management Limited.
Mercer has welcomed former BT Super executives, Andrew Wallace and Corrin Collocott to the firm’s Pacific Leadership Team. Mr Wallace joins as Personal Super and Member Experience Leader in the Mercer Super business. Mr Collocott joins as Chief Investment Officer (CIO), Mercer Super and Multi-Sector, and will also play a deputy CIO role across Mercer in the Pacific.
David Bryant, CEO Marsh McLennan Pacific and President Mercer Pacific said the formation of Mercer’s Pacific executive team, including Mr Wallace and Mr Collocott’s appointments, was an important step towards bringing to life a bigger and better offering for Mercer Super members.
“The aim of the merger has always been about bringing the best of our organisations together to deliver better retirement outcomes for our members. Both Andrew and Corrin have a great deal of experience across the industry, and importantly, a shared purpose to make a difference in people’s lives,” Mr Bryant said.
Mr Wallace is responsible for leading the retention, growth and development of Mercer Super’s personal super offering and member experience. Reporting to CEO, Mercer Super, Tim Barber, Mr Wallace leads the team accountable for enhancing the end-to-end experience of the fund’s 850,000 members, ensuring Mercer Super is at the forefront of member solutions and services. With 30 years’ experience, Mr Wallace has held various roles across personal and corporate superannuation and risk and governance.
Mr Collocott will oversee the performance of the Mercer Super investment options and other Mercer diversified funds, and provide broad leadership to the Pacific Investment Management team. Reporting to Mercer Pacific CIO, Kylie Willment, Mr Collocott will also help to ensure a smooth transition of the Advance Asset Management funds into the Mercer investment framework. Mr Collocott brings deep financial market expertise and proven leadership capabilities to Mercer’s already impressive global team of approximately 2,000 investment professionals.
“Andrew and Corrin’s appointments are an important milestone for us, as we start to shape our future together. I’m confident that we have the right leadership team to take us forward for the benefit of our members, our clients and our people,” Mr Bryant said.
In addition to Mr Wallace and Mr Collocott’s appointments, approximately 350 BT Super and BT Investment Solutions colleagues joined Mercer on 3 April 2023.
“We are delighted to welcome BT Super and BT Investment Solutions colleagues to Mercer,” Mr Bryant said.
“Combining our expertise is just the beginning of a very exciting journey. I truly believe that the merger is a game-changer for Mercer and the industry more broadly, as we set a new bar for retirement outcomes for Australians,” he concluded.
The Mercer Super Trust is now one of the 15 largest funds in Australia with approximately 850,000 members and $63bn* total assets under management.
