David Bryant is CEO of Marsh McLennan Pacific and President of Mercer Pacific. He leads a collaborative effort in the region to deliver innovative solutions and greater client impact at the intersections of the Company’s four businesses: Marsh, Mercer, Guy Carpenter and Oliver Wyman. As our clients, colleagues and communities face new challenges and opportunities, David is charged with bringing together the capabilities from across our businesses and expanding what’s possible for our clients and our people. He is a member of the Marsh McLennan International Leadership Team and is accountable for the region’s overall results.

In his role as Mercer President, Pacific, David leads Mercer’s 2,000+ colleagues in Australia and New Zealand in providing trusted advice and best in class solutions in the areas of superannuation, investments and workforce consulting. He is passionate about the financial security and wellbeing of all Australians, and believes Mercer has an important role to play in advancing the good we want to see in our communities through the provision of these services. This drive to make a difference in people’s lives is also reflected in his work with the Movember Foundation, of which David is a Board member.

David is often asked to express his views on the changing nature of the financial services industry, as well as the barriers that stand in the way of societal and economic equity and prosperity. He is Chairman of the Financial Services Council - the leading peak body for Australia’s financial services industry - and is a well-respected voice within the sector.  

David joined Mercer in 2020 following a successful 40 year career in financial services, asset consulting, and banking across the Asia Pacific region. Previous roles include Chief Executive Officer, Wealth & Capital Markets and Chief Investment Officer at Australian Unity.
