Driving diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) in the workplace

Successful businesses are making DEI central to their operations

Building a diverse, equitable and inclusive workplace has become an operational imperative for a growing number of Canadian organiztions. An effective DEI strategy takes more than good words and intentions. It requires commitment, structural transformations, along with cultural and behavioural changes.

The results of our DEI diagnostic survey shows that 59% have a multi-year strategy and action plan.

Actions speak louder than words

How does your organization measure up against the rest of Canada? We surveyed 141 organizations from across the country, representing businesses of all sizes. They told us that, while they are more committed than ever to DEI, putting their plans into action remains a challenge:
  • About half of surveyed employers set DEI goals and measures on a regular basis.
  • Just over two in five track rates of hiring, promotion and exits by gender.
  • Two in five set diversity targets as part of their strategy and reporting.
Read the results today to learn ways successful businesses are making DEI strategy central to their operations.
