Dedicated Employer Program allows for personalized innovation experience and engagement with other employers and stakeholders across the health ecosystem
Mercer will also serve as lead sponsor for HLTH VRTL’s “Health Equity Program” focused on health disparities, systemic racism and other inequities in healthcare
New York, August 13, 2020 – Mercer, a global leader in redefining the world of work, reshaping retirement and investment outcomes, and unlocking real health and well-being, and a business of Marsh & McLennan (NYSE: MMC), and HLTH, the leading platform bringing together the entire health ecosystem, announced today the second annual “Employer Program” taking place at HLTH VRTL 2020. Based on the success of the inaugural Employer Program at HLTH 2019, attendees this year will have the ability to personalize their HLTH innovation experience, in a virtual setting, and engage with fellow employers, as well as with payers, providers, innovators, startups, investors, associations, policy makers, and the patient community.
The HLTH VRTL 2020 Employer Program, “Reinvent | The New Shape of Health” will take place on Thursday, October 15, 2020 from 11 am to 4 pm ET/ 8am to 1pm PT, and will feature employer C-Suite spotlights and deep-dive discussions with leading speakers. While Mercer and HLTH will announce more program details and an agenda in the coming weeks, the key themes of the program will focus on value – quality, access, and cost – influenced by COVID-19 impacts, digital health innovations, health disparities, and diversity, equity and inclusion imperatives.
Mercer is also pleased to serve as lead sponsor for the “Health Equity Program”, one of four mission-driven Impact Programs at HLTH VRTL 2020, which will take place on Friday, October 16, 2020, starting at 11 am ET / 8am PT. This program will look boldly at inequities in health, including systemic racism, social determinants and the roots of health disparities, and explore possible strategies for change. To extend the conversation beyond HLTH VRTL, the program will also include a 4-part webinar series diving into additional topics in health equity. The series will launch in early 2021 and lead up to the HLTH 2021 event, taking place next October.
“The COVID-19 pandemic and recent societal crises have once again clearly demonstrated how integral employers are to collectively change the status quo and further transform the US healthcare system,” said Ed Lehman, Mercer’s US Health Leader. “From telemedicine to digital health apps, from gender-specific needs to racial equity, by attending HLTH VRTL 2020, employers can engage with other stakeholders and peers in order to lead deep, systemic change.”
HLTH VRTL 2020 takes place October 12-16, 2020.
