Third quarter 2024 showed a slowdown in legislative activity, but several insurance coverage mandates were passed, particularly in California and Illinois. Minor changes and announcements were made to several paid family and medical leave laws. A Michigan supreme court ruling replaced several key parts of its existing paid sick and safe leave law with a 2018 version, to take effect early in 2025. Prescription drug and telehealth laws were limited. San Francisco announced changes for its two major healthcare ordinances.
