Jeff leads Mercer’s Global M&A Advisory Services. He leverages his nearly 25 years experience as a trusted advisor to business leaders.
Jeff specializes in assisting employers on the following topics in relation to a merger, acquisition or divestiture.
Jeff’s consulting background provides him unique insight into both the employer and the consumer mindsets as they relate to healthcare purchasing and decision-making. He believes that understanding these mindsets, clearly defining obstacles, and rationally mapping a path forward are critical to successful business planning. Linking a well-articulated people strategy to the business strategy is also vital to a company’s ability to efficiently pursue the path forward.
Jeff is a Phi Beta Kappa and graduated summa cum laude from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Based in Frankfurt, Germany, Thomas Bouchez is leading Mercer's M&A practice in Central & Eastern Europe. He advises clients on HR, people, and benefit aspects of corporate and private equity transactions.
Thomas has more than 12 years of international experience in Mergers & Acquisitions and HR, and advised on hundreds of M&A and transformation project. In his current role, Thomas leads global teams in advising clients on M&A transactions covering up to 100 countries simultaneously. His strength lies in his diverse expertise in both HR and finance/business. Thomas holds an MBA in Finance from IE Business School and worked for a private equity firm. Fluent in English, French and German with a good knowledge of Spanish, Thomas has also led various projects in HR strategy and transformation, executive management, compensation & benefit design and innovation & change management.
Prior to joining Mercer, Thomas worked for Deloitte Consulting and gained experience in different HR roles within multinational groups, including serving as international HR business partner within the Lufthansa Group.
Jean-Luc Durrieu is a Principal and Mercer’s leader of the France M&A group. In this position, he is involved with companies in due diligence, employee communication and integration/change projects.
Since joining Mercer in October 2002, Jean-Luc has held key roles in consulting and management (Paris/London). Until 2008, Jean-Luc led a Business Unit in the Mercer France Health & Benefits department.
Previously Jean-Luc held various roles at Gras Savoye (affiliate of Willis), specializing in communication companies and financial institutions HR programmes and Société Générale as a bank auditor (Frankfurt/Paris).
Konrad leads Mercer’s International M&A Advisory Services business. He has a wealth of experience in international HR management gained from both line management and consulting roles.
Konrad works with companies to design and execute tailor-made talent management, management assessment and development programs, among others, against the backdrop of major strategic and cultural change processes. Konrad advises clients across all industries on their staffing decisions.
He has assisted clients in transforming the HR function. In addition, he has led numerous M&A projects on the HR side, including diligence and post-merger integration.
During the past few years he has led several culture change and integration projects, from conducting a comprehensive cultural audit to the implementation of the desired NewCo culture, including change management and communication.
Konrad studied political economics at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München and at the insurance academy in Munich, Germany, where he graduated as an insurance economist. In 2003 he graduated from the Executive Education Program at Babson College, Boston. Konrad is fluent in German, English and Italian.
Jie Cui is a principal with Mercer M&A Advisory with more than 22 years of experience in HR management and consulting.
She has accumulated solid HR consulting experience with covering various HR functions, e.g. compensation design, job evaluation, performance management, executive remuneration, talent assessment and M&A etc. She has been involved in several major M&A activities including the support on due diligence, do by close preparation and post-close integration. Her representative consulting clients include Alibaba, Pfizer, Microsoft, Dell, Huawei, Deppon, Hershey, CIMC, FAW, SANY, COFCO, CNOOC, KKR, Unigroup, Wanhua Group.
Prior to joining Mercer, she has worked for GE, Lucent Technologies and Caterpillar. She has experience in both manufacturing and corporate center in multinational company and accumulated extensive knowledge in a variety of HR areas. She, as the manager of Asia Pacific Centre of Excellence of Caterpillar, used to lead Mergers & Acquisitions and cross-AP region HR projects. She was assigned as HR Business Partner of Bell Labs China and organized Campus recruiting every year.
Jie Cui received an MBA from Fordham University in New York, USA. She also holds the Master degree in human resource management from London School of Economics and Political Science, UK. She is the co-author of the book “Cross Border M&A: A Guide to HR Management”.
Dhruv is an M&A Advisory Services Leader and Multinational Client Group Leader based in Singapore. He has more than 13 years of consulting experience focused on human capital issues and has worked on a broad range of assignments including cross-border M&A diligence, integration, and project management.
Dhruv has advised US and Asian multinational clients (both strategic and financial buyers and sellers) on various types of transactions including acquisitions, divestitures and joint ventures.
Prior to joining Mercer, Dhruv spent two and a half years as a key member of the HR M&A team for a Big Four accounting firm in the US. He has also worked at a consulting firm primarily as an International benefits consultant working with multinationals focusing on their human capital globalization strategy.
He has an MBA from New York University’s Stern School of Business and an undergraduate degree from Ohio Wesleyan University in Mathematics and Economics.
Koji Suzuki is a Senior Principal and Multinational Client Group Leader, Global Client Manager in Tokyo.
He has experienced in designing HR programs, such as competency model, Performance Management and Rewards redesigning.
From 2002, he has set up ‘Japan Desk’ based in Bangkok to support HR consultation for Japanese subsidiary companies which have operations in ASEAN countries.
After 2006, he has been consulting on Talent Management for global companies.
In addition, he has experienced in HR transformation and change management for Japanese and Asian global companies. He also has rich experiences of designing globally integrated business and HR processes and implementing HR technologies for global companies.
His clients are belonging to many industries such as pharmaceutical, consumer products, medical industry, publishing and manufacturing. Also multinational companies having operations in Japan, US, EU and Asian countries are his clients. He is now a global account director manager of Global companies.
Prior to joining Mercer Japan, he worked for Sumitomo Corporation, Willis Towers Watson and EY Tax Co. (People Advisory Service).
He has written books, such as “Basic HR Management in China and ASIA” (NIHON KEIZAI SIMBUNSHA). He also developed the business training video about MBO, performance management.
He graduated from the University of Tokyo (bachelor of laws).
Jin-Seok Park leads Mercer’s MCG/M&A advisory for Korea. Cross-border DD, Closing and PMI are especially the strength area of which he has worked for more than 200 deals. He has special knowledge of various industries with professional skills from M&A practice experiences.
His clients are Korean conglomerates such as Samsung Group(Mainly, Electronics), SK Group, LG, Doosan Group, CJ Group, KB Financial, Miraeasset, Dongwon Group, Kolon, Daelim, Aju, S-Oil, Samchully and MNCs like Pfizer, Loreal, Astellas, and PEs such as MBK, CVC, Hahn&Co, ENF, Mcquarrie, etc..
He has been involved in a broad range of deals from DD, PMI, Day-1 preparation, etc. from In-Out cross-border deals to In-In local deals from the HR perspectives.
He is a lecturer in private and public sectors about M&A related HR issues for M&A forum, LG Group, CJ Group, SK Group, Incruit, and a government agency.
Being a senior consultant at Andersen Korea, prior to joining Mercer, he did strategy & HR consulting works mainly for various clients.
He received BA and MBA from Korea University, and completed executive M&A course at the Wharton School of the Univ. of Pennsylvania (USA).
