From 5 May 2019, Costa Rican employers with at least 30 female employees must provide a lactation room for employees who are breastfeeding. A decree (Spanish) agreed to in April 2018 sets out requirements for lactation rooms, including minimum dimensions, blinds or curtains to provide privacy, ventilation, a refrigerator and a table and chairs.
