Keynote Speaker
Dr Tom Chatfield
Tom is a British author, tech philosopher and educator. His books exploring contemporary culture — most recently, Wise Animals (Picador) and the best-selling textbook Critical Thinking (Sage Publishing) — are published in over 30 languages. His 2019 debut thriller, This is Gomorrah (Hodder), has received several prestigious awards.
Tom’s interest in improving our understanding of digital technology and its uses in policy, education and engagement focuses on AI ethics, critical thinking and future skills. He works with business schools, universities and companies around their development and creates award-winning online courses for both academic institutions and businesses.
A columnist for BBC Future, Tom writes widely in the international media and guest lectures at universities in the UK and Europe. He is a regular on BBC radio and television and broadcasts around the world. Appearances include TED Global and the Cannes Lions Festival; authors@Google; the World Congress on Information Technology; Science Foo Camp; Intelligence Squared; the Houses of Parliament; Aspen Seminars for Leaders; the RSA, Royal Society and Royal Institution; and venues ranging from the Sydney Opera House to the Googleplex.
His past collaborators include numerous global technology influencers, such as Google, the BBC and the UN. Tom took his doctorate and taught at St John’s College, Oxford, and continues to guest lecture at universities across the world.
Tom is a member of the British Library Advisory Council, an Associate at Perspectiva, former Chair of the Authors’ Licensing and Collecting Society and co-Chair of the Copyright Licensing Agency, a faculty member at London’s School of Life, and an academic advisor to schools and universities across the UK.
When not working, he plays jazz piano and drinks too much coffee.

Karolina Cardoso
Karolina is the Global Head of Rewards at Galderma, bringing extensive experience in compensation, benefits and HR transformation. She is a true global citizen with a multicultural background. Karolina began her career in the talent space in Brazil before earning her master’s degree in Italy, where she then became a reward consultant. Karolina later moved to Switzerland to lead global HR transformation programs for a Big Four firm, focusing on acquisitions, post-merger integration, and corporate restructuring and leveraging rewards and recognition to drive organizational change management.
After a decade in the consulting space, Karolina joined Galderma as the company spun off from Nestlé, leading global HR projects to establish Galderma as an independent company. Having the right reward programs in place was key in attracting the right talent and ensuring employees were engaged throughout the demanding journey of taking a company public just a few years after a carve-out. Karolina played a key role in the company’s preparations for its IPO, which made history as the largest placement volume in Switzerland since 2017 and one of the largest healthcare IPOs ever. Now, her focus is on strengthening Galderma’s high-performance culture and shaping its needs as a publicly listed company, ensuring it continues to attract capabilities needed for the next growth cycle while still retaining top talent.
Wen Dong
Wen Dong joined HR Policy Association in September of 2020. She currently leads HR Policy Global, a premium program for HR policy members, providing information and insight on key international trends and developments. She is also responsible for member engagement and research.
Prior to HR Policy, she was the International Labor Relations Manager for Walmart, where she specialized in global employee and labor relations. Her other experience includes various HR positions with TRW Automotive in Detroit and PetroChina in China. She received her degree of Master Public Administration from the University of Louisville.

Anna-Maria Hass is on a mission to establish a world-class performance and rewards function at Beiersdorf, focusing on performance management, total compensation, and rewards. With a degree in organizational psychology, Anna-Maria started her career in consulting before joining Beiersdorf in 2018, where she has gathered extensive experience in organizational development and talent management, while also partnering with the global marketing function at NIVEA as their HR Business Partner.
Throughout her career, Anna-Maria has been engaged in transformative projects, including the overhaul of the global marketing operating model, corporate strategy development and implementation, as well as M&A initiatives. She has also played a pivotal role in renewing the potential assessment approach and shaping Beiersdorf's corporate purpose, "Care Beyond Skin." A strong advocate for diversity and inclusion, Anna-Maria is committed to advancing pay equity within Beiersdorf and ensuring that all employees are recognized and rewarded fairly.
Oscar Lagerkranz
Oscar is a seasoned total rewards leader at Munters Group, where he plays a pivotal role in shaping compensation, benefits and people analytics strategies for a global workforce. With a strong background in HR technology and a deep understanding of organizational design, Oscar brings a pragmatic and data-driven approach to aligning people strategy with business objectives. He has led complex global initiatives, including implementing Workday across multiple regions. Oscar’s expertise also spans M&A integration and standing up scalable HR models during periods of high growth and transformation.
Passionate about future-proofing the HR function, Oscar is known for driving innovation in rewards design while balancing operational excellence and employee experience. He is a trusted advisor to executive teams and HR peers alike, and he frequently contributes insights on the intersection of digital HR, governance and total rewards strategy.
David Lorimer
Deirdre Maher
Deirdre is an accomplished reward executive with more than 25 years of experience in total rewards across the financial services and food and beverage industries. As the Group Head of Reward at Kerry Group Plc, Deirdre leads a Global Reward Centre of Expertise (COE) responsible for shaping and delivering Kerry’s reward strategy for over 21,000 employees across more than 50 countries.
Throughout her career, Deirdre has spearheaded several transformative projects, including developing a global job architecture, designing and implementing an award-winning Global All Employee Share plan, rolling out a compensation and performance management system, and designing executive compensation and global incentive plans. Deirdre also works closely with the Board and Remuneration Committee.
Deirdre holds a Bachelor of Arts in human resources from the National College of Ireland. Outside her professional life, Deirdre is a qualified Irish Dancing Teacher and Adjudicator, running a successful Irish Dancing School in Kilkenny, Ireland.
Henrike von Platen
Henrike founded the FPI Fair Pay Innovation Lab in 2017 to help companies and organizations achieve fair pay. Since 2021, FPI has been certifying organizations with the Universal Fair Pay Check, the warranty mark for Fair Pay. Her goal: fair pay for everyone. This business informatics scientist and economist fights for economic independence for people all over the world. She founded a women’s investment club, is Chair of the University Council at the Munich University of Applied Sciences and has been actively engaged for many years in promoting more women into leadership. From 2010 to 2016, she was President of Business and Professional Women Germany and a patron of the German Equal Pay Day campaign. She also initiated a nationwide petition for equality on pay slips in 2016.
This financial expert is convinced that women and money belong together and is the author of the book "Let’s talk about money – the fast track to equality". She has received several awards for her work.
Judith Roemer
Judith is an employment and benefits partner at Freshfields. As a specialist in management and remuneration, she is one of Freshfield’s pioneers and experts advising on the Pay Transparency Directive. Her general practice covers the full range of individual and collective employment law, including management- and benefits-related corporate governance aspects and boardroom matters.
Judith has special expertise in designing remuneration policies for listed companies and financial institutions as well as customising incentive and stock option programmes. She has vast experience advising on all employment-, management- and benefits-related aspects in private and public transactions on a multi-jurisdictional level. She has been advising and providing training for global companies across sectors on the Pay Transparency Directive since its inception.
Judith has spoken at several pay transparency events and published articles and briefings on the topic. She also co-authored a chapter on management remuneration and ESG in a handbook on the impacts of the supply chain law.
Josephina Smith
Marie-Laurence Sépède
Marie-Laurence brings nearly 25 years of experience in human resources, with a focus on compensation, benefits and global mobility. She gained international exposure collaborating with multinational organisations from the FMCG industry, finance sectors and governments. She has dedicated her career to designing and implementing innovative reward systems while supporting workforce evolution and organisational change. Since 2022, she has served as Head of Compensation and Benefits at Skyguide.
Skyguide provides air traffic management (ATM) for Switzerland and adjacent parts of neighbouring countries, with 1,500 professionals at 14 locations across the country. Skyeguide’s mission is to develop fair, sustainable and attractive compensation frameworks by following market trends and considering individual and collective performance.
Marie-Laurence’s earlier career includes nearly two decades at Mercer, where she specialised in international compensation, and a subsequent role at ITX (2019–2021) as a senior HR specialist responsible for developing global compensation strategies. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the Lausanne Hotel Management School.

James Williams
James is an accomplished international rewards leader, with over 25 years of expertise in the field of compensation, benefits, and HR strategy. Currently serving as the Head of Global Total Rewards at Ericsson, James drives initiatives designed to inspire and retain top talent while balancing organizational goals with equitable employee experiences. His career spans leadership roles across companies like Novo Nordisk, A.P. Moller Maersk, and Unilever, where he has executed transformational projects such as the digitalization of reward systems, M&A integration, and executive compensation program change.
James has implemented AI-driven approaches to job evaluation, harmonized complex incentive structures, and fostered transparency in reward strategies. A business graduate with an MBA, James combines technical expertise with a deep commitment to building processes that empower organizations and their employees. As a passionate advocate for innovation in rewards, James leverages his rich experience to design solutions that support business success and position companies as employers of choice.
Justin Szwaja
Justin is the Head of Executive Compensation & LTI at Galderma, a recently Swiss-listed company whose purpose is advancing dermatology for every skin story. In the spirit of opportunity that Galderma offers, in just 18 months since he joined the company, Justin’s remit has expanded to include pay analytics, M&A, and HR and reward strategy.
With a highly varied background bringing together creative pursuits (as a jazz musician and entrepreneur), passion for education (both with his four kids and through prior professional teaching adventures) and a keen interest in the analytical (as a lawyer and someone who will use any excuse to get into highly complex problem-solving), his work has evolved beyond the world of human resources as we know it. Justin co-founded Impaktify in 2020, a global network organization of diverse professionals who combine collaborative, co-design methods with technical workforce expertise aimed at making a step change toward awakening human potential. While other professional obligations are his current priority, Justin retains the curiosity and passion to identify the power of the collective in solving workforce challenges in his everyday work.

Narcisa is a partner and the Leader of Mercer’s Career group in Switzerland. With 20 years of experience in HR and international compensation, Narcisa manages large accounts in Switzerland and coordinates multiple engagements across different areas of HR expertise. [BB1]
Previously, she worked for a large consulting firm in the UK, specialising in international compensation, before the firm was acquired by Mercer in 2010.
Narcisa holds a master’s degree in international human resource management from London Metropolitan University and a Bachelor of Business Administration from the Bucharest Academy of Economic Studies.

Over the past 16 years, Gaurav has focused on advising both private and public companies within the technology and life sciences sectors, working with organisations across Europe, the United States and Asia. He leads global client relationships and teams, delivering tailored, industry-specific advice and solutions.
Guarav’s passion lies in guiding organisations through critical decisions related to business growth, workforce planning, performance optimisation, compensation systems and risk mitigation, ensuring they’re well-equipped to seize opportunities and thrive in a competitive landscape.
Joshua Fisher
Gordon Frost
Gordon is Mercer’s Global Rewards Solution Leader and has over 30 years of consulting experience, advising clients on how to strengthen the relationship between business strategy and people programs. He has extensive experience advising Boards of Directors and senior management on the design of market competitive total rewards programs that attract and retain top talent, align decision-making with organizational objectives and are consistent with sound governance practices.
Gordon has deep knowledge of the strategy, design, and financial impact of rewards programs, including equity-based incentive plans and sales incentive plans. He has also led broader projects related to talent strategy with a specific focus on the needs of a globally mobile workforce. In his current role, Gordon is responsible for ensuring that Mercer’s rewards solutions are best-in-class, allowing local consulting teams to deliver leading advice to clients and build total rewards programs that are future-focused in a rapidly changing and globally competitive marketplace.
Gordon first joined Mercer in 2000 and has been a member of both the Mercer Canada leadership team and the Global Career Practice leadership team. His consulting experience covers a broad range of industries with clients ranging from pre-IPO start-ups to global Fortune 100 companies. He also spent over 2 years as the Vice President of Global Compensation for a multi-national organization before re-joining Mercer in 2013.
Patrick Gutmann
Patrick leads the Industries and Networking team for Mercer’s Career group in Europe. His primary focus is to provide clients with industry-specific survey solutions and networking events as well as dedicated research and consulting services tailored to the competitive landscape they encounter.
Patrick holds an engineering diploma and brings more than 20 years of experience in diverse roles related to pay and rewards. He is particularly passionate about HR metrics and compensation within the technology sector.
Paul Habgood
Paul is a partner with Mercer’s Transformation practice and the Global Skills Solution Lead. Before joining Mercer, he worked at IBM as a consultant, supporting the business’s transformation to focus on cloud solutions and AI. He is a recognized thought leader in workforce transformation and building skills-powered organizations.
He received his Strategic Workforce Planning (SWP) certification from the Human Capital Institute and has developed several new methods and technologies, including dynamic resource management, future skills planning and SWP tools in Workday Adaptive Insights and IBM Planning Analytics.
Paul has more than 25 years of experience in human capital consulting across many industry sectors, including financial services, life sciences, aerospace/defense, energy, FMCG and high tech. He has led planning and enterprise-wide workforce transformation projects that have realized £100 million+ in value to clients, resulting in the implementation of major reskilling and upskilling strategies.
Jorge Jimenez
Sean MacHale
Seán is a Partner and Mercer’s Europe and UK Rewards Practice Leader, overseeing our rewards products, consulting and technology solutions across the region. Seán has 25 years’ experience in the rewards and broader human resources consulting space, including compensation (executive and workforce), engagement, communications, transformation and digital.
Prior to his European role, from 2011 to 2023, Seán led Mercer’s Southeast US People Consulting line of business, managing a team of 50 consultants, covering sales, delivery and operations across all solution areas. He was also client relationship manager for a number of key local clients.
Between 2007 and 2011 he held a Reward Advisory role with PwC, managing a variety of human resource and compensation projects for major clients across pharmaceutical, financial services and manufacturing sectors, including The Coca-Cola Company, Pfizer, Eli Lilly, Boston Scientific and Allianz Insurance. He also developed PwC’s human capital metrics offering and launched the first survey of its kind in Ireland.
Tricia Maskell
Tricia is an award-winning communicator with more than 25 years of experience in strategic communications. She joined Mercer in 2020 from a specialist employee change communication agency in Canada, where she worked for nearly four years. Previously, she ran her own public relations agency for 10 years and worked in several boutique and large, global agencies.
Throughout her career, Tricia has specialised in strategic communications and now focuses on internal change communication, helping to create communication strategies, plans, and materials that explain complex and emotional subject matter to employees in a way that’s simple and easy to understand, navigate, and access. Over the past five years leading Mercer’s Employee Change Communications team, she has worked on numerous projects to create greater transparency and acceptance around pay, reward strategies, pay equity and gender pay gap, job and grading structures, skills, and career frameworks.
Graham Pearce
Graham is a senior partner and Mercer’s Global Defined Benefit Segment Leader. Based in Munich, he is responsible for driving thought leadership and strategy for Mercer’s defined benefit business globally. Graham advises select large multinationals on their pension and benefits strategies and programs around the world. He has more than 30 years of experience in employee benefits and pensions, working in a variety of roles.
Graham began his career at Mercer in the UK before moving into various international roles. He has been based in Germany since 2004 and led the country’s International Consulting team before becoming the leader of the European International Consulting team and then the Global Consulting Group Leader. Graham is currently working with the World Economic Forum (WEF) as part of its Longevity Economy workstream, comprising leaders from public, private and not-for-profit sectors. He was a contributing author to last year’s WEF/Mercer report defining the Longevity Economy Principles and this year’s report covering Innovations and Trends in the Longevity Economy.
Graham has a first-class honours degree in mathematics from Manchester University, is a fully qualified UK and German actuary and holds the PMI/IEBA Diploma in International Employee Benefits.
Nicole Peichl
Nicole is a partner of the TT [BB1] and a subject matter expert for talent and people strategies. Along with a deep understanding of successful talent and skill management implementation, Nicole brings broad knowledge of HR work, from vision to tools and architectures to stakeholder and change management. She combines process know-how with diagnostics and systems. Important interfaces to workforce planning and design, leadership and learning, career frameworks and technology are also part of her experience.
At Mercer/Promerit, Nicole was responsible for talent and people strategies for 17 years and was a member of the board for internal HR. Throughout her years in consulting, she has managed more than 100 projects and global initiatives at midsize and DAX companies. Before joining Mercer, she worked in internal HR functions for eight years. Nicole studied German and French law at the WWU/University of Münster.

Jennifer Schulz
Jennifer Schulz sees non-discriminatory pay as a social issue in which companies play a key role. Through innovative pay equity analyses and a genuine passion for advancing fair compensation, she empowers organizations to identify critical areas for action and implement targeted strategies for meaningful change.
As a recognized expert in compensation and strategic HR management, Jennifer has headed the Compensation Insights & Technology Practice at Mercer since 2016 and has been a member of the Screening Board of the Fair Pay Innovation Lab FPI since 2022.
With almost 25 years of professional experience in specialist and management positions in consulting and industry in Germany and the Netherlands, she understands client-specific challenges and solutions from a global perspectives. Clients appreciate her integrative approach to developing customized solutions for their unique challenges.
Javier Tabakman
Javier is a partner and the Latin America Career Leader at Mercer. He leads teams in Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, Peru, Chile and Argentina in providing consulting in compensation, development, talent, employee experience and transformation. With more than 20 years of experience in human resources, Javier has worked in both consultancy and executive positions for multinational companies.
Before rejoining Mercer, he served as CHRO of Pampa Energía, a leading energy company in Argentina. His career includes managerial roles at Citibank, Reckitt Benckiser and Roland Berger. Javier holds a degree in psychology from the University of Buenos Aires and has completed postgraduate studies at IAE Business School, Universidad Austral, as well as executive programs at Harvard, Cornell, and the Thunderbird School of Global Management. He has also been a professor in the MBA program at CEMA and in the HR postgraduate program at the Universidad Torcuato DiTella.
Yvonne Traber
Yvonne leads the Mercer Mobility business globally, working closely with Mercer’s regional mobility leaders and also leads Mercer’s European Mobility practice. In her role, she helps multinational companies resolve international assignment management issues and challenges through mobility, rewards & benefits solutions.
With more than 20 years of experience, Yvonne has been instrumental in driving and supporting Mercer geographic regions, particularly EMEA and APAC. She has played a key role in the development and design of international compensation solutions for a number of leading firms and is a regular speaker at Mercer’s international management seminars and conferences.
David Voggeser
David is a distinguished expert and leader in compensation and HR transformation strategies. He specialises in guiding organisations through strategic and cultural shifts and orchestrating large-scale HR transformation programs. David leads the development and implementation of comprehensive job architectures, including job classification, title structures and compensation strategies, to support organisational change. He is located in Frankfurt.
Working with a range of clients, from agile start-ups to multinational corporations, David tailors solutions to address complex challenges, drive growth and enhance organisational effectiveness. David is also a recognised thought leader, frequently invited to share insights at industry forums and conferences. He has authored seminal studies on global HR trends, including the Global Equity Insight Survey, and oversees the Top Management Survey, providing invaluable benchmarks for executive compensation strategies.
David’s project experience includes advising multinational organizations on total rewards strategies to ensure market competitiveness, internal equity and alignment with business objectives. He has also led large-scale HR transformation programs, integrating compensation frameworks with broader talent and organizational strategies. David has conducted detailed pay equity analyses and benchmarking studies, providing data-driven insights to improve executive and employee compensation structures. In addition, he has developed and implemented strategic compensation models to promote transparency, fairness and long-term sustainability.
