New Shape of Work
Flexing to support growth at Pandoura
April 15, 2021 | Episode 11 | 30:04
The New Shape of Work interview series addresses the challenges and uncertainty brought by the coronavirus, and how to transition to a more agile workforce for the future.
One of the headline findings of our 2021 Global talent trends report was that 77% of companies said that flexibility is going to drive their transformation agenda this year. Companies are looking to understand how to develop a more flexible workforce and work model, and also how HR can be more flexible to respond to the changing environment.
Today we have an interesting conversation with Michele Wilkinson, Chief Talent Officer at Pandoura, about flexible working, why skills based practices are key to success at Pandoura, and how the cultural transformation at Pandoura has supported their growth over the last 18 months.
Interesting moments from the interview:
-
Retaining talent
"It's really clear that talent actually is the number one biggest risk right now to organisations and CEOs out there. There's been a wealth of research around that. So we decided that not only attracting, but retaining our talent and creating loyalty between our people and the company during this period would help to encouraged greater “going the extra mile” and staying with us." -
Accommodating employees
"We want to help leaders to understand and be skilled up on their role in caring for our people and making sure that they're building in the time and effort. The focus is on checking in with people, how are they doing, what do they need while flexible working from home. But equally, if they're really struggling working from home then is there a way we can accommodate them to come into the office if that's what they need to do." -
Educating our leaders
"What’s incredibly important and actually incredibly hard to do is getting clear on what are the critical capabilities that underpin your strategy. Actually the challenge we've got is leaders have never done this before, so…educating our leaders for them to answer the question is the first hurdle."
