Sweden Abolishes Unpaid Sick Day

From 1 Jan 2019, Swedish employers must provide sick pay from an employee’s first day of sickness — unlike the old rules, which made the first day of sick leave unpaid. Sick pay must equal 80% of the employee’s average weekly salary for the first week of absence.
