Slovakia increases vacation entitlement for young parents

Connecticut Enacts Paid Family and Medical Leave

Parents aged 33 years old or less who have permanent child care responsibilities are entitled to one additional week of paid vacation leave under changes to the Slovakian labor code, effective 1 Jan 2020. Previously, workers aged 33 years or more were already entitled to five weeks of vacation, but younger workers were eligible only for four weeks, regardless of their child care responsibilities. In addition to the vacation entitlement, Slovakia has 15 public holidays.
