Saudi Arabia’s ‘Strategy 2022’ Sets Out Pension Reforms

Strategy 2022” pension reforms first announced by Saudi Arabia’s public pension agency (PPA) in 2018 feature:

  • A commitment to work with the private sector “to provide special offers and services for pensioners and beneficiaries as an add-on for the existing services in all regions of the kingdom”
  • Improvement of the pension scheme, including better administration processes in the PPA, more digitalization, stronger PPA governance and better coordination with other government agencies
  • Improved investment and risk management capability to achieve better financial performance
