Hong Kong To Raise Minimum Wage in May
29 January 2019

The statutory minimum wage in Hong Kong will increase to $37.50 an hour, up from HKD $34.50, as of 1 May 2019, the government said. The monthly monetary cap on the recording of the total number of hours worked will also increase on 1 May to HKD $15,300, up from HKD $14,100. If employees are paid at least the monthly cap, employers don’t have to record their total number of hours worked.
