Hong Kong Increases Minimum Wage, Employee Salary Cap for Employer Reporting


Hong Kong’s statutory minimum wage will increase to HKD $37.50 an hour — up from HKD $34.50 — as of 1 May 2019, the Labour Department has announced. In addition, the employee salary threshold that triggers the employer requirement to record the number of hours worked by employees has increased to HKD $15,300 a month — up from HKD $14,100 — as of 1 May.
