Connecticut Enacts Paid Family and Medical Leave

China's Banking & Insurance Regulatory Commission (CBIRC) has released revised health insurance regulations effective 1 Dec 2019.

Highlights

  • The waiting period for cancelling long-term health insurance policies has been expanded to 15 days — up from 10.
  • An expanded definition of health insurance includes accident coverage.
  • CBIRC-authorized insurers operating a health insurance business must establish a separate unit that meets certain conditions.
  • Health insurance cannot be combined with other insurance products.
  • Collection and use of genetic history by insurance companies is limited and may not be used to determine pricing.
