    The opioid epidemic in the United States has produced alarming statistics including:

    • Despite the U.S. representing just 5.4% of the world’s population, the U.S. is responsible for 80% of the world’s Rx Opioid consumption.
    • Drug overdose deaths have surpassed traffic accidents as the number one cause of accidental death in the United States.
    • 53% of misused Rx Opioids were not prescribed to the misuser, but were either given by, bought from, or taken from a friend or relative.

    On top of the devastating human cost of the opioid crisis, opioid abuse impacts employers by increasing medical cost, decreasing  productivity and worker safety, and increasing absenteeism.
