The requirements around running a DC trust have been ramped up considerably in order to improve member retirement outcomes, which has led to a vast improvement in most trust solutions in recent years.
The introduction of Independent Governance Committees for workplace GPPs were a step towards closing the governance gap, but to date their actions seem to have done little to make any real difference on most schemes.
With the final increase in auto-enrolment minimum contributions in place, more clients are asking themselves whether their scheme is really delivering value.
