Prepares HR leaders and their teams to add value before, during and after the deal
-
Session scheduled for October 21-22 at the Gleacher Center in Chicago
Human resource (HR) executives and other professionals responsible for the human capital aspects of mergers, acquisitions and other business transactions should mark their calendars for Mercer’s M&A Ready™ 2009 workshop, being held October 21-22 at The University of Chicago Gleacher Center in Chicago. By attending this interactive two-day workshop, participants will gain an understanding of M&A fundamentals from the HR perspective. M&A Ready enables professionals to better advise the deal team on how human capital policies, programs and practices affect deal success and to help their organizations generate better short- and long-term results for employees, customers and shareholders.
“Although M&A activity continues to face challenges due to the current economic turmoil, deals in the greater Chicago area and around the globe will continue in 2009,” said Gareth Williams, a Chicago-based worldwide partner in Mercer’s M&A consulting business. “However, the nature of deals will be different. In this difficult environment, which is expected to continue through the balance of 2009 and into 2010, HR’s mandate to assure value is derived from a deal is even more challenging. Through facilitated discussions featuring interactive exercises, our M&A Ready workshops are able to illustrate and simulate the best-practice M&A principles and processes that every senior HR leader must know in order to effectively manage transactions – in whatever form they take.”
