Mercer wins ‘Investment Consultant of the Year’ and ‘Investment Consultant: 10 years of excellence’ awards at the Global Pensions Awards 2009
Mercer has won the ‘Investment Consultant of the Year’ and ‘Investment Consultant: 10 years of excellence’ awards at the Global Pensions Awards 2009. Mercer was initially short-listed for the awards following a survey of pension funds who were asked to nominate a service provider in each of the award categories. A panel of 18 judges, consisting of senior names from the global pensions industry, voted Mercer winner in both categories.
The award recognises the strength of Mercer’s investment consultancy services and the breadth and depth of its global resource. In the last year the firm has broken new ground in the responsible investment area by incorporating environmental, social and governance factors into its mainstream manager research and launching a carbon footprint analysis tool for client portfolios.
Mercer’s Financial Strategy Group and the Mercer
Sentinel® Group have guided an increasing number of clients through risk and
back-office operations reviews - both highly pertinent in the current economic
climate.
Andrew Kirton, global head of Mercer’s investment consulting business, commented: “We are delighted to have won these awards, which is amply justified in view of the sustained hard work and efforts of our investment consulting team globally. It is just over 10 years ago that senior colleagues met in Toronto to start the transformation of our investment consulting business from a series of single market businesses into a truly global entity.
“Since that time we have never lost sight of our goal of delivering excellence to clients through developing and pulling on global depth and breadth of resources and services.”
