The research in this report was undertaken between May and August 2008 regarding the impact of the economic downturn on HC management strategy. The primary data was collected from 35 participating companies, spanning 19 industries from 9 countries.


Five key areas have been explored: guiding principles and lessons learned in a slow economy; workforce recruitment; benefit, retirement and reward programmes; performance management and retention; and HR functional effectiveness.
