Haig R. Nalbantian is a Principal and Worldwide Partner with Mercer Human Resource Consulting and co-director of the company’s R&D Council. A founding member of Mercer's Strategy and Metrics Group, he has been instrumental in developing Mercer's capability to measure the economic impact of human capital management. Those capabilities have been applied in numerous projects he has directed for leading companies across a broad range of industries.

 

Haig’s research in labor and organizational economics has been published in numerous professional journals including, the American Economic Review, the Journal of Labor Economics, the Compensation and Benefits Review, WorldatWork, among others. He is editor and chief contributor to the interdisciplinary volume, Incentives, Cooperation, and Risk-Sharing.
 
Haig joined Mercer from National Economic Research Associates (NERA). Prior to that, he was on the faculty of Economics at NYU and was a research scientist at its C.V. Starr Center for Applied Economics.
 
Haig has bachelor's degrees in English and Economics from NYU, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. His M.A. and MPhil degrees in Economics are from Columbia University. He is a member of the American Economic Association.

Rick Guzzo is a Principal and Worldwide Partner with Mercer Human Resource Consulting. He consults to several Fortune 500 companies and other large organizations regarding human capital and he co-directs Mercer's global R&D activities.

 

An internationally recognized expert in organizational psychology, Rick is author/co-author of several books including Team Effectiveness and Decision Making in Organizations. His research has been published in several academic and professional journals including Academy of Management Review, the Journal of Applied Psychology, and Sloan Management Review.

 

Before joining Mercer in 1997, Rick was Professor of Psychology and Management at the University of Maryland (1989-97) and previously served on the faculties of NYU (1980-89) and McGill University (1978-80). He is a Fellow of the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology and the American Psychological Association.

 

Rick earned his B.S. in Psychology at The Ohio State University in 1974 and his Ph.D. from Yale University in Administrative Sciences in 1979.

Dave Kieffer helps companies create competitive advantages for themselves by identifying and measuring their firm-specific workforce practices that most affect business results.  

 

He is also the leader of the Strategy and Metrics Group and a Worldwide Partner at Mercer.

 

A frequent speaker at national conferences, Dave is widely quoted on human capital issues in major publications like the Wall Street Journal, BusinessWeek, and The Financial Times.

 

He holds B.A. and M.A. degrees from The Ohio State University and did post-graduate work at the University of Wisconsin.

Jay Doherty is a Principal with Mercer Human Resource Consulting. With over 20 years of management consulting experience, he has worked to solve tough strategic challenges for more than 40 Fortune 200 and FT50 companies throughout North America, Europe, and Asia. He focuses on the measurable link between people management practices and bottom-line results.

Prior to joining Mercer in 1996, Jay’s global consulting experience included change management, process re-design, marketing and logistics strategy development for companies such as BAE Systems, British Rail, CIGNA, Conoco, Deutsche Aerospace, DuPont, ExxonMobil, Halifax, ICI, Kodak, UPS, and Xerox. In addition, he served as an advisor to the Ministry of Finance and National Economy in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. 

Jay received his B.S. from Villanova University and his M.B.A. from The Darden School at the University of Virginia.
