Mercer Global HR Conference - Global Pandemic: Preparing for the workforce implications |
|

|
The prospect of a global avian
flu pandemic is, as most scientists say, not a matter of
“if” but “when.” Mercer’s recent global survey has
indicated that most enterprises are very concerned about
the issue, but are taking a wait-and-see approach with
respect to planning and actions. This Mercer Global HR Conference workshop presentation given to clients in Washington DC in December 2006 looks at the HR implications of a pandemic, findings from Mercer's global survey of 450 companies from 38 countries and specific key actions that should be taken now to avoid disaster later.

Mercer perspective - Preparing for a Pandemic:
Easing the Avian flu's impact on employee welfare and
productivity |
|

|
Mercer's perspective centers on workforce concerns -
issues related to the health, safety and welfare of
employees. Before, during and after an avian flu
outbreak, human resource managers, and the protocols
they put in place, will play a critical role in
maintaining their organizations' ability to function
effectively.
