An increased level of activity in the
Middle East has created a demand for
comprehensive employee benefits data. In response we have
conducted our second survey of benefits and HR practices
in this very dynamic region. Mercer believes that for some
countries this is the first survey of its kind.
Key features
The aim of the study is to provide multinational employers with detailed information on current benefit packages, including statutory and typical practice, current trends and developments, together with our observations.
-
Protection programmes – Retirement and end-of-service programmes, health and welfare benefits including death, medical, dental, sickness and disability
-
Other perquisite benefits – Including housing allowances, schooling, personal accident insurance, travel insurance
Countries included
Eighty-one survey responses were received from 45 companies, the majority of which were multinationals. In total, the survey covers around 500 benefit plans and 61,000 employees throughout the Middle East. More than 15 industry sectors are represented.
